WAITING ON THE WORLD TO CHANGE
Monday, November 13th, 2006This is the title of the newest song from John Mayer, love his work.. but then i dont fully agree with his lyrics:
It’s hard to beat the system
When we’re standing at a distance
So we keep waiting
Waiting on the world to change
Geez, i cant imagine what if every people just waiting on the world to change…Well yeah, it depends what subject you’re working on.. If you feel this way because of the war happened caused by bloody MAN behind the scene, this line probably true. Thank God, though i’m not american, Democrat won almost 80 % of the parliament, am i rite? Though many people hate american supremacy but still they have influence to the world. So yeah, republican is absolutely no for world stability.Hah!
Sometimes i’m confused with those Republican, since most of the time they use religious stigma yet they succesfully develop the world’s problem in most recent years. Sigh, I wish someone from Democrat who’s going to win presidential election able to redeem middle east’s anger and that US Government will agree to sign Kyoto Protocol since they’re one of the biggest contributor for Global Warming.
Speaking of changes-i’m currently working on to make Stop Littering Campaign. Good thing that most of my friends agree to join my campaign (still working on the concept though).. But another joke came out from one of my best friends back in uni and she says " Why should i put trash in trash bin while someone will take care of it?" My first response was stare at her weirdly though i know it’s only a joke but those line really reflecting most of Indonesian — this is my thought—
Do you realize that those line is more or less is true in a lot of cases. People just always thinks that someone will take care of all kinds of issues until no one really care about it!!.. True that we have to mind our own business but it doesnt mean that you ought to give even slight attention to your surrounding.
Simple step can make some changes. Aha, i remember about one book, Tipping Point. It says in those book that little change may contribute to social changes. I do believe it!
So yeah, i’m still on it!
— I just got back from Desa Jruek Balee, Kecamatan Indrapuri, Aceh Besar… had a discussion with village leader, Pak Husin, he’s a great guy and you know what, He has been helping his community throughout years, and now he develop community nursery with aid and technical assistance by our staff. That’s what i call Agent of Change. At 6.40 PM on my way back to Banda Aceh, i passed the street with beautiful scenery, mountains, lights, t sun, pink-yellow and blue colour in the sky, it’s just so sweet…—
